I am Cecelia

I am a Somerset West based photographer, capturing people and the moments that matter in and around Cape Town. From portraits and couples to families, newborns, and special gatherings, the focus is always on natural, genuine moments that feel like you.

How a session actually runs

A mother lifting her laughing toddler into the air outdoors

We start with whatever you bring: an idea, a reference, or simply a feeling you would like the photos to have. From there, things are kept relaxed and natural, giving you time to settle in and feel comfortable in front of the camera.

I offer gentle direction when needed, from finding the best light to helping with simple poses and making sure everyone feels at ease. The rest is yours: the natural smiles, the little interactions, and the moments that happen without being planned.

For families with small children, there is no pressure for everything to go perfectly. Little ones can be unpredictable, and that is completely okay. Some of the most beautiful photographs come from the moments that happen naturally.

Questions people ask first

Do you travel?

Anywhere in and around Somerset West and surrounding areas at no extra cost. Further away is also possible. Send me the details and I will give you a quote for the travel.

What if it rains?

We move the session. No fee, no argument. Outdoor light is half the work and there is no sense fighting a bad sky.

How many photographs do I get?

Each session includes an indicated number of edited photographs. You will usually receive around that number, and often a few more. I would rather give you extra good photographs than hold back images just to stick to a number.

Can I get the unedited files?

No, and I will explain why rather than just refusing: the edit is the work. Raw files are half a photograph and they will not look like what you booked.

How long do I have to download?

Thirty days from the moment your gallery opens. You get a reminder before it comes down, and I can always put it back up.

What do I wear?

Things you already own and can move in. Avoid loud logos and clashing patterns across a group, and that is genuinely the whole rule.
