Booking is a request

Choosing a time on this site does not reserve it. Your booking arrives as a request and is only confirmed once Cecelia accepts it. You will get an email either way. The time is held for you while the request is open, and released if it is declined.

Deposits and payment

A deposit is payable once the booking is confirmed, and it holds the date exclusively for you. The balance is payable before the edited photographs are delivered. Prices shown on this site are in South African rand.

Cecelia Photography is not a registered VAT vendor, so no VAT is charged and invoices carry no VAT line.

Moving or cancelling

You may move your session at no cost with more than 48 hours notice. Cancelling within 48 hours means the deposit is not refunded, because the date can no longer be offered to anyone else.

If weather makes an outdoor session unworkable, it is moved at no cost.

Copyright and use

Copyright in the photographs stays with the photographer, as provided by the Copyright Act 98 of 1978. You receive a personal licence to print, frame, share and post your photographs.

Commercial use needs separate written permission. Please do not apply your own filters or crops before posting the photographs publicly.

Delivery and retention

Edited photographs are delivered to your area on this site, usually within two to three weeks. Your gallery stays available for 30 days from delivery. You are reminded before it closes, and it can be reopened on request.

Please download and back up your own copy. The gallery is a delivery mechanism, not long-term storage.

Accounts

You are responsible for keeping your password to yourself. Tell the studio immediately if you think someone else has access to your account.

Liability

The photographer's total liability is limited to the fees you have paid. Files are backed up redundantly, but in the event of total equipment failure your remedy is a full refund.

Governing law

These terms are governed by South African law. Your individual session agreement, signed in your client area, takes precedence where the two differ.
